2024 Tea with Queens Annual Mentoring Event

Come share your current projects related to trauma informed families.  We meet to share with other Trauma informed agencies on the front line, resources working with Families to help heal after a Traumatic experience. This quarterly gathering is so that we can be more informed about what other Agencies are doing to better serve our community. As well as plan future collaborations. Meeting locations will alternate to create a closer knit.

"Tea with Queens" Mentoring Event (Older Women teach the Younger Women) A Titus 2 Event over Tea and Brunch! Sunday March  24, 2024 Sharing stories and changing lives! One Queen at a time. Etiquette manors, please and thank you, sharing, smiles, politeness. The whole room was gleaming! We need more community Mentoring Events that promote positive behavior.

Tea with Queens, passing the Torch!

Christel Fausto, Yolanda Wallace, Chanel Hardgrave- Murrey, Martha Ross, shared there stories and gave words of wisdom! Each Queen was given a gift for all their contributions to Peoria IL, in which they still build and foster positive relationship as role models.

-Christel Fausto - President of the Greater Peoria Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. She shares her  Mexican heritage and how hard she has worked to change our community. She shares her story from an immigrant to having a Career and business owner.

-Chanell Hardgrave- Murry- A Peoria Park District Organizer and Co-Founder of  Peoria Fashion , Peoria School Board Member and so much more.  She shares her diverse Islander heritage and encourages change.

-Martha Ross- A Peoria Public School Board Member, President of the South  Side Community for Change. Ms. Ross shares her experience of being a daughter of a Share Croppers Daughter and the struggles she endured.

Chanel Hardgrave- Murry, Kamiya Causey and her little sister. Kamiya was recognized for being an Entrepreneur, She owns a Boutique and has been in business since she was 16 yrs. old as a clothing Designer. A senior at Peoria Richwoods HS, and demonstrates leadership skills. March 24, 2024! She loves Tea Parties!

Mentoring Event - Where 3 Kings that sent a message of life experiences, hope over a game of checkers and dinner! What's your next move?

May 16, 2024- Carver Center

Presentations:

Roosevelt Myles- Speaks of being wrongfully Convicted and shares his struggles of a young man growing up, in Chicago and raised in Peoria IL He talked about his Education and street life. He has been exonerated in 2022, where he was wrongfully convicted in 1992. He talked about association with friends ect.

Wayne Cannon-  Food Pantry Director, Mentor, originally from New York, College and shares that he couldn't be King without his Queen and children. He had great suggestions.

Andre Allen- City Council Man  (District 4) Shares that he was raised in Peoria Il and attended Peoria Public Schools, College and now City Council and encourages, that they can do great things if they put there minds to it!
