Mother’s War on Violence Ministry (MWOVM) is a Peoria-based nonprofit organization founded by Yolanda Wallace in response to the murder of her son, Jon Buckley, in 2006. The organization was born out of her profound grief and determination to create lasting change in the fight against violent crime. MWOVM seeks to address the trauma caused by violence, empower affected families, and foster safer communities. Through a variety of programs and services, including mental health counseling referrals, case management, and victim compensation assistance, MWOVM is committed to providing practical support and emotional care to those affected by violent crime.

At MWOVM, we believe that survivors are not statistics—they are individuals, families, and communities who deserve compassion, understanding, and access to the resources they need to heal. Our efforts are deeply rooted in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), ensuring that every person who interacts with our organization receives care that acknowledges and responds to the effects of trauma. We strive to build resilience in survivors and help them move forward in their journey to healing.

MWOVM is proud to be a voice for the voiceless and is dedicated to ensuring that those who have been impacted by violence are supported and heard.
